Cyprus takes part in the 60th Venice Biennale 2024


Cyprus is participating in the 60th International Exhibition of Contemporary Art – Venice Art Biennale, which will take place between 20 April and 24 November 2024, with curator and art historian Adriano Pedrosa as artistic director.

As stated in a press release, Cyprus will be represented by the artistic duo Lower Levant Company (Peter Eramian, Emiddio Vasquez), the Endrosia Collective (Andreas Andronikou, Marina Ashioti, Niki Charalambous, Doris Mari Demetriadou, Irini Khenkin, Rafaelia Tsiridou, Alexandros Xenophontos ) and artist Haig Aivazian.

The team’s proposal is entitled “On a wildflower-lined gravel track off a quiet thoroughfare…”.

The opening of the Cypriot pavilion will take place on Thursday, April 18, at 10.30 am. in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Culture Vasiliki Kassianidou. The pavilion will be hosted at Associazione Culturale Spiazzi, Castello 3865, (Venezia 30124).

It is also noted that the exhibition title takes its cue from the opening sentence of a 2019 Forbes article tha
t exposes a covert spyware operation run out of a black van, parked along an inconspicuous gravel track in the coastal city of Larnaka.
