Cyprus Supports EU’s Call for Respecting Somalia’s Territorial Integrity

Nicosia: The Republic of Cyprus has expressed its alignment with the European Union's appeal for upholding the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, as stated by the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday. This position underscores Cyprus's commitment to international efforts aimed at maintaining stability and peace in the region.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Foreign Ministry, via a post on X, reinforced the notion that Somaliland is an integral part of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Cyprus reiterated its dedication to collaborating with the African Union, the EU, and the broader international community to support state-building and peacebuilding initiatives in Somalia, in line with relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized Cyprus's advocacy for resolving disputes peacefully through dialogue, adhering to the principles set forth in the UN Charter. This stance reflects Cyprus's broader commitment to promoting stability and peace in international relations.
