Nicosia: The Republic of Cyprus has publicly declared its alignment with the European Union's stance on respecting the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, as stated by its Foreign Ministry.
According to Cyprus News Agency, a statement made by the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday emphasized Cyprus's agreement with the EU's position that Somaliland is an integral part of Somalia. The ministry underscored its commitment to supporting the African Union, EU, and broader international efforts focused on enhancing state- and peacebuilding initiatives in Somalia, in line with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The Foreign Ministry further reiterated Cyprus's advocacy for resolving disputes peacefully through dialogue, in compliance with the UN Charter. This statement reflects Cyprus's dedication to upholding international cooperation and peaceful conflict resolution.
