Cyprus Sees Inflation Steady at 5.2% in September

Nicosia:Annual inflation in Cyprus was estimated to remain at 5.2% in September 2026, unchanged from August. This estimate was published by Eurostat in a flash report.

According to Cyprus News Agency, The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) indicates that inflation in Cyprus was 3.0% in April, increased to 3.5% in May, 4.1% in June, 4.4% in July, and then reached 5.2% in August, maintaining the same level in September. However, compared to the previous month, the HICP in Cyprus is estimated to have decreased by 0.4% in September. In the same month the previous year, annual inflation in Cyprus was recorded at 0.0%.

In the broader euro area, annual inflation was estimated to have risen to 3.8% in September 2026, up from 3.2% in August. Among the main components, energy is expected to show the highest annual rate of increase, with an 18.8% rise in September compared to 14.3% in August.
