Leonidas Konomis scored the first goal for Cyprus in the 19th minute, and Andronikos Kakoullis extended the lead in the 31st minute. However, the team faced a setback when Kostas Pileas received a straight red card in the 52nd minute following a hard tackle, reducing Cyprus to ten players. Montenegro leads the group with nine points after three matches, followed by Cyprus with four points. Armenia holds three points, and Latvia has one point.
