Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its forecast for the sea area of Cyprus for the period from 1200 on December 15, 2025, until 1200 on December 16, 2025. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and indicates that a weak low pressure is influencing the region, resulting in weather that will be partly cloudy at times.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the winds across the various coasts of Cyprus will range between 3 to 6 on the Beaufort scale, with the atmospheric pressure recorded at 1016 hPa. The sea surface temperature is noted to be 22°C, with visibility remaining good throughout the period. No warnings have been issued for the region.
On the West Coast, during the afternoon, winds will blow from the east to southeast at force 4, occasionally reaching force 5, with the state of the sea described as slight, occasionally reaching slight to moderate. At night, the winds will shift to northeast, reaching force 4, and occasionally force 5 offshore, maintaining a slight to moderate sea state. By morning, winds will vary from northeast to southeast ranging from force 4 to 5, gradually decreasing to force 3 to 4, with sea conditions easing to slight.
The South Coast will experience northeast to east winds at force 4, locally increasing to force 4 to 5 in the afternoon, with the sea remaining slight. By night, the winds will turn from north to northeast at force 4, locally reaching force 5, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions. In the morning, winds will shift from northwest to northeast at force 4 to 5, locally reaching force 5, with sea conditions varying from slight to moderate, occasionally becoming moderate locally.
On the East Coast, the afternoon will see northeast winds at force 4 to 5, locally reaching force 5, with the sea being slight to moderate. At night, the winds will change to north to northeast at force 4, locally reaching force 5, with the sea conditions described as slight to moderate. In the morning, winds will shift from northwest to northeast at force 3 to 4, occasionally reaching force 4 locally, with the sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight, occasionally becoming slight locally.
