Cyprus-Romania sign cultural and educational cooperation program

Cyprus and Romania signed on Tuesday in Bucharest the 11th Executive Program of Cultural, Educational and Scientific Cooperation for the years 2024-2029.

According to a press release by the Cyprus Education Ministry, the Executive Program was signed, on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, by the Minister of Education Dr Athena Michaelidou who pays an official visit to the country, and on behalf of Romania, by Minister of Education Dr. Ligia Deca.

The specific Program strengthens the institutional framework of relations between Cyprus and Romania, upgrading bilateral cooperation in the fields of Education, Research, Culture, Sports and Youth.

In the framework of the Executive Program, the two sides can promote exchanges of teachers and students, as well as the exchange of information, good practices and experts in important areas such as scientific research, adult education, contemporary artistic creation, cultural heritage, cinematography and physical education.

There are also references to relevant EU pro
grams (Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps) and international organizations (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe – UNECE, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization – UNESCO, Council of Europe), through which the prospects for cooperation at all levels of education are strengthened and the basis for more interaction is provided both bilaterally and at European and international level.
