Cyprus records three deaths and 2,987 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

Cyprus Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that three more COVID-19 patients have died, while 2,987 new coronavirus cases have been detected. The positivity rate stands at 3.53%.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is now 949 and of confirmed COVID-19 cases 446,999. Currently 207 COVID-19 patients are treated in hospital.

The people who have lost their lives are a 96-year-old man who passed away on April 4, a 71-year-old woman who died also on April 4, and an 87-year-old woman who passed away on April 5.

The condition of 30 of the patients who are in hospital is critical, 6 are intubated in an Intensive Treatment Unit and 4 are treated in an Intensive Treatment Unit but are not intubated, while 20 are treated in an Increased Care Unit.

Out of those hospitalised 56.04% have not been vaccinated.
