Cyprus police conducted 6,105 checks during the last 24 hours and booked 41 citizens and 8 establishment managers for violating the measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.
A police spokesperson told CNA that the majority of fines were handed out to citizens because they were not using protective face masks and for visiting restaurants without a safepass.
Establishment managers were fined because they allowed clients to sit at tables without having a safepass, or they served clients at a bar, or because they allowed people to dance.
