Cyprus Launches Global Innovation Initiative to Connect Startups with International Networks

Nicosia: "Cyprus is determined to secure that innovation will produce tangible benefits for citizens and businesses," President Nikos Christodoulides stated during the launch event of the Plug and Play platform at the Presidential Palace. The initiative aims to integrate Cypriot startups into global networks, fostering growth and innovation.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the collaboration with Plug and Play is a strategic move following President Christodoulides's discussions in the USA in April 2025. These discussions underscored the importance of engaging with international industry leaders and partners. Plug and Play Tech Center is recognized for its role in connecting startups, companies, and investors worldwide, and its presence in Cyprus signals confidence in the country's potential to innovate.

The initiative is designed to link Cypriot startups and researchers with global networks and markets, with the objective of creating businesses that can compete internationally. This endeavor is expected to enhance innovative activities and create quality employment opportunities for Cypriots.

Admissions for the first cycle of the program, which will commence at the end of May and span three months, are open until mid-May. Interested parties can apply through the Plug and Play website. The program will initially support ten startups, with a total of six cycles planned to aid approximately 60 startups in innovative sectors. This initiative is projected to generate around 500 new job opportunities.
