Cyprus-Greece Electricity Interconnection Project to Proceed as Planned, Confirms Marinakis

Athens: The Greek Government Spokesperson, Pavlos Marinakis, assured that the Cyprus-Greece electricity interconnection will proceed as planned, aligning with the revised project plans. Speaking on SKAI television, Marinakis emphasized that the cable project will advance according to the schedule with the participation of a major French company. When questioned about the project's completion, he confidently stated, "Certainly. It will proceed according to schedule."

According to Cyprus News Agency, Marinakis also addressed potential geopolitical tensions, affirming Greece's readiness to respond effectively if Turkey engages in any provocations. "Greece will give every response that a strong state must give - a state that does not accept dictates and will not tolerate any violation of international law," Marinakis stated, underlining Greece's commitment to defending its sovereignty and interests.

Furthermore, when inquired about Turkey's announcement regarding marine parks, Marinakis dismissed it as "a move intended for domestic consumption." He reiterated that Greece's actions are firmly rooted in international law, with a clearly defined scope, reinforcing the country's stance on adhering to legal frameworks in its dealings with neighboring countries.
