Doha: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, paid a working visit to Doha, on Monday, and discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations with Qatari officials.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 said in a press release that, during his visit, Kombos had a joint meeting with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi.
During the meeting, the prospects for further strengthening Cyprus-Qatari relations, the upcoming Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as well as current regional developments, were discussed.
Particular emphasis was placed on the situation in Syria, efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and the provision of humanitarian aid to civilians, the press release concluded.
