Cyprus Exhibition ‘Crafting Nature’ Opens at Moltkes Palace in Copenhagen

Copenhagen: An exhibition titled 'Crafting Nature' opened on Tuesday in Copenhagen, inaugurated by Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou. The exhibition is part of the Cultural Programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 and is featured in the international 3daysofdesign 2026 event. It aims to introduce Cyprus as a country with a rich historical background and is hosted at Gyldne Sal in the historic Moltkes Palace.

According to Cyprus News Agency, 'Crafting Nature' is curated by art historian Thalea Stefanidou and produced by the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Cyprus Handicraft Service, with support from the Embassy of Cyprus in Denmark. The exhibition showcases handcrafted artworks that depict Cyprus as a region with a vibrant history and a dynamic element of contemporary creativity. Seventeen Cypriot artists are presenting their work inspired by the natural environment of Cyprus, utilizing materials such as clay, stone, glass, wood, metals, and threads. This exhibition transfers contemporary artistic thought and activity into the European creative landscape, while also reinterpreting and extending traditional elements into new visual and meaningful expressions.

In her address, the Deputy Minister highlighted that the participating artists serve as ambassadors of contemporary Cypriot artistic thought and practice. They engage in active dialogue with other European designers and trends in the European design field. She stated that their collective work and the exhibition "reflect the rationale of the Cyprus Presidency: that Europe's cultural fabric is not static; it is woven through continuous exchanges, reinterpretations, and creative transformations."

The exhibition will remain open until 25 June 2026.
