Ten Bounced Cheques Valued at £32,026 Recorded in May

Nicosia: Ten cheques amounting to a total of £32,026 were included in May in the preliminary list of the Central Information Register (CIR), as reported by the Central Bank. All these cheques were associated with three legal entities.

According to Cyprus News Agency, since the start of the year, 69 dishonoured cheques, valued at £210,502, have been documented. These figures involve 32 legal entities and 12 individuals. This marks a 32% reduction in the number of dishonoured cheques and a 12.8% reduction in their total value compared to the same period last year.

Additionally, during May, one legal entity that issued a dishonoured cheque and one individual who controls a legal entity were registered in the CIR. Since the beginning of the year, 50 issuers of dishonoured cheques have been added to the CIR, comprising 20 legal entities, 6 individuals, and 24 individuals who control legal entities.
