The Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth and Minister, Prodromos Prodromou, express their “deep sorrow” for the tragic death of thousands of people due to the deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
“The sadness is greater”, the Ministry said in a statement, since among the dead in Turkey “were also 48 of our Turkish Cypriot compatriots: teachers, parents and 24 children who, by unfortunate circumstances”, happened to be in the affected areas, when the earthquakes struck.
The Ministry expresses its “full support and sympathy” to the relatives of the victims.
