Nicosia: The Chief Scientist of the Republic of Cyprus, Demetris Skourides, has introduced a new podcast series titled “Fearless Future,” which aims to place people, purpose, and innovation at the heart of discussions surrounding artificial intelligence (AI). The series’ inaugural episode, “The Future of Work in the Age of AI,” was produced by UCLan Cyprus and streamed live on LinkedIn, marking a unique initiative accessible globally.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the episode was moderated by Nicoletta Papakyprianou, an expert in HR transformation, and featured Skourides alongside Philippos Soseilos, CEO and Chairman of PwC Cyprus. The discussion focused on the transformative impact of AI on the global workforce, drawing on insights from PwC’s 2025 Global AI Jobs Barometer and reports from McKinsey, IDC, and the World Economic Forum.
These reports highlight AI’s role in enhancing productivity, unlocking human potential, and reshaping value creation across industries. Philippos Soseilos discussed the economic implications of AI, noting the projected $1 trillion development gains by 2026 and the potential impact on up to 30% of the global workforce by 2030. He stressed the importance of organizations rethinking roles and fostering environments where AI experimentation is encouraged.
The discussion extended to Cyprus’s national AI strategy, led by the National AI Task Force and supported by the Deputy Ministry of Digital Policy, Research and Innovation.
