Cyprus Braces for Shifting Weather Patterns in Sea Area

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a detailed forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering a period from 1800 on July 23, 2026, to 1800 on July 24, 2026. The forecast indicates a seasonal low pressure affecting the area, with mainly fine weather expected, albeit with local mist and low cloud during the night and early morning hours.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance is recorded at 1001 hPa. Visibility is generally expected to be good but may reduce to moderate or poor levels due to mist. The sea surface temperature is noted at 28°C, and no warnings have been issued for the period.

Detailed observations for various coastal areas include variable wind patterns and sea conditions. On the West Coast, winds are expected to shift from southwest to northwest, with the state of the sea varying from slight to moderate. The South Coast will experience winds transitioning from southeast to southwest, with sea conditions ranging from smooth to moderate. The East Coast will see winds shifting from southwest to variable directions, and the North Coast will have winds moving from southwest to southeast, with slight to moderate sea conditions offshore.
