Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its latest forecast for the sea area surrounding the island, indicating that a seasonal low pressure is currently influencing the region. While the weather is expected to remain mainly fine, there will be times during the night and morning when increased low cloud coverage is anticipated. Late night and early morning hours will likely bring local mist and fog patches, particularly affecting the southern and eastern coastal areas.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the visibility is generally good, but it may become moderate to poor in misty conditions and very poor in areas affected by fog. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 29°C, and no warnings have been issued for the forecast period.
Throughout the forecast duration, varying wind conditions are expected across different coastal areas. The west coast will experience smooth to slight seas with winds shifting from northwest to northeast at night to south to southwest by morning, and eventually southwest to northwest in the afternoon. The south coast will see similar conditions, with the possibility of stronger winds reaching locally 4 to 5 in the afternoon. The east and north coasts will also experience smooth to slight sea states with winds gradually shifting direction throughout the day.
