Nicosia: The importance of engaging with young people in dialogue on technology, innovation, and digital transformation was highlighted by Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Dr. Nicodemos Damianou during an open discussion with young people at UCLan Cyprus in Larnaca. The event was held as part of the 20th National Conference of the European Parliament Youth Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the country's digitalisation progress, the opportunities created for young people through the development of innovation and the technology sector, as well as issues of particular concern to the younger generation, including the protection of minors online, were among the topics discussed.
Referring to the discussion, Damianou emphasized that it focused on technology, digitalisation, and innovation, noting that these areas are now integral to everyday life and the future.
For her part, President of European Parliament Youth Cyprus Marilena Spyrou stated that the conference emphasizes sustainable development and a sustainable Europe. She also expressed her satisfaction with the support from political figures, who, she said, play an important role in the legislative process.
