Cyprus Braces for Isolated Showers Amid Weak High Pressure

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a weather forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating that a weak high-pressure system is currently affecting the region. The forecast, which covers the period from noon on December 2, 2025, to noon on December 3, 2025, suggests the likelihood of isolated showers, particularly over the northern areas, due to locally increased cloud coverage in the evening.

According to Cyprus News Agency, atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issue was recorded at 1020 hPa. Visibility across the region is expected to remain good, and the sea surface temperature is noted to be 23°C. Importantly, no warnings have been issued for the forecast period.

The forecast provides detailed information on wind patterns and sea states for different coastal areas. On the west coast, winds are expected to shift from west to northwest in the afternoon, transitioning to north to northeast at night, and eventually to northeast to southeast by morning, with sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight.

Similarly, the south coast will experience southeast to southwest winds in the afternoon, changing to northwest to northeast at night, and northeast to southeast by morning. The east coast will see northeast to east winds in the afternoon, moving to west to northwest at night, and northwest to northeast by morning. The north coast will have varying winds from northwest to northeast in the afternoon, east to southeast at night, and northeast to southeast by morning, with the state of the sea anticipated to be smooth to slight across all areas.
