Cyprus and South Sudan establish diplomatic relations

Cyprus and South Sudan have signed a Joint Communique establishing diplomatic relations.

The Joint Communique was signed by Cyprus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulides and South Sudan’s deputy Foreign Minister Deng Dau Deng, who met in the margins of the 76th General Assembly in New York on Friday.

According to a press release issued by the Cypriot Foreign Ministry, Christodoulides and Deng’s meeting was the first ever held by state officials from the two countries.
