Cypriot karateka Efstathiou wins bronze medal at the U16 European Championship


Cypriot karateka Konstantina Efstathiou won a bronze medal in the category Cadet Kumite Female -47 kg at the U16 European Championship, held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

According to a press release issued by Cyprus Karate Federation, Efstathiou ‘s path to the medal was not easy. After back-to-back wins against champions of other countries, she met a tough opponent in the semi-final, where she lost to a Turkish athlete. However, with incredible endurance and determination, she managed to prevail in the repache against her French opponent, eventually winning the bronze medal.

This is the 5th medal that Cyprus wins in European Karate games, according to the Federation.

President of the Federation, Andreas Vassiliou, expressed great joy and pride, pointing out the importance of the support from her coaches, family and the members of the Board of Directors of the Federation.
