China launches new experimental satellite

A new Chinese satellite lifted off on Sunday from the country’s northwestern Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, local media reported.

The experimental satellite will carry out test mission on internet technology, state news agency Xinhua reported.

It was launched on a Long March-2C carrier at 7.00 p.m. local time (1100GMT) as the 478th flight mission of the China-built Long March rocket series.

Last month, China launched two other experimental satellites into space to be used for new Earth observation technologies, commercial remote sensing services, and verification of related technologies.

The recent launch mission was China’s 26th rocket launch this year.
