EU High Representative Josep Borrell welcomed the understanding reached regarding the construction of a new road near Pyla, underlining his support to the role of the UN and UNFICYP, and calling for the continuation of efforts towards a resumption of negotiation.
«I wholeheartedly welcome the understanding reached by the sides to find a way forward on the Pyla/ Pile road in Cyprus and stabilise the situation», Borrell said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
«Support to the essential role of the @UN and UNFICYP. All efforts must continue towards peaceful negotiations and real process of dialogue,» he added.
