Ayia napa: The President of the European Council, Ant³nio Costa, expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, for his hospitality and the vibrant environment provided during the informal European Council meeting. The gathering, which took place on Thursday and Friday, was held under the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, in the scenic locales of Ayia Napa and Nicosia.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Costa conveyed his appreciation through a post on X, thanking Christodoulides for the memorable setting that facilitated the discussions. He also acknowledged the energy that Christodoulides brought to the meetings, indicating that it was a driving force behind their collaborative efforts. Costa humorously noted a slip of the tongue he made during the summit, promising to return to Cyprus and jokingly mastering the pronunciation of Ayia Napa before his next visit.
In response, Christodoulides also took to X, acknowledging Costa's good humor regarding the pronunciation mishap. He praised Costa for his leadership in fostering synergy within the European Council and extended an invitation for future visits. Christodoulides expressed a desire to continue building on the friendship and collaborative spirit, suggesting that future visits could include discussions, camaraderie, and perhaps even a pronunciation seminar.
