Anna Sokolova wins Silver Medal in Rhythmic Gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games

Anna Sokolova secured the silver medal for Cyprus and the delegation of the Cyprus Commonwealth Committee, in the 22nd Commonwealth Games “Birmingham 2022”.

The Cypriot Gymnast won the second place in All-Around Individual Final of the Rythmic Gymnastics. Sokolova scored 112.100 from the four judges, taking the second place and securing the silver medal. The gold medal won the English Gymnast Ekimova who took the first place with a score of 112.300.

Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva from Australia won the Bronze medal with a score of 111.100.

This is the eighth medal for Cyprus at the Commonwealth Games of Birmingham and the second silver after the one won by Sokratis Pilakouris at Rings Men’s Final. Cyprus also won two golds, one in Judo by Giorgos Balartsashvili and one in Men’s Horizontal Bar with Elias Georgiou and four bronzes in Artistic Gymnastics, three by Marios Georgiou in Individual All-Around, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar and one more by the Cypriot team in All-Around.
