Allegations of animal abuse must be investigated promptly, Attorney General, George Savvides, said in a tweet regarding the investigation into the death of Berton the cat.
“Respect and care for animals is a sign of civilization. Every form of abuse should be condemned,” stresses Savvides.
“Allegations of animal abuse must be investigated promptly and effectively. That is why the Animal Police was established”, the post of the Attorney General concludes.
The serval wild cat named Berton had been seized by her owner, and after weeks of declining health, passed away on Tuesday.
