Cyprus: Cyprus’ Department of Meteorology on Sunday issued a yellow warning for isolated heavy thunderstorms mainly on the mountainous areas, inland, the south and the east of the island.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the warning specifies that between 12 noon and 18.00 on Sunday, isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect the island, particularly focusing on the mountainous areas, inland, the south, and the east. Precipitation rates are anticipated to exceed 35 millimeters per hour. Additionally, there is an expectation of hail during the storms, with surface winds expected to be variable and strengthening.
The meteorological office has advised the public to be vigilant, particularly in exposed areas such as mountains, forests, and open terrain. There is a possibility of disruption to outdoor activities, and the public is urged to take extra care.
