Yellow Warning for Extreme Maximum Temperatures on Friday

Nicosia: The Meteorology Department issued on Thursday afternoon a yellow warning for extreme maximum temperatures on Friday, August 22. As stated, the warning will be in effect between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. tomorrow, with maximum temperatures expected to reach around 41 degrees Celsius over inland areas and around 32 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

According to Cyprus News Agency, residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution during the peak heat hours. The authorities recommend staying hydrated and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during the warning period. Emergency services are on alert to respond to any incidents related to the heat.

The yellow warning serves as an alert to the public about potential health risks due to the expected high temperatures. It is part of a series of measures aimed at ensuring public safety during extreme weather conditions.
