Nicosia: High pressure is currently affecting the sea area of Cyprus, bringing increased high cloud coverage at times but maintaining good visibility.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance stands at 1028hPa, with the sea surface temperature recorded at 20°C. No warnings have been issued for the area.
The forecast, which covers the period from noon on January 4 to noon on January 5, 2026, predicts varying wind patterns and sea conditions across different coasts of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds are expected to range from northeast to southeast at force 4 in the afternoon, becoming variable near the coast at force 3 to 4. The sea state will be slight, with smooth to slight conditions near the coast. During the night, winds will strengthen to force 4 to 5, with variable conditions near the coast at force 3 to 4, while the sea will remain slight, smooth to slight near the coast.
The south coast will experience north to northeast winds at force 4 to 5 in the afternoon, with localized northeast to east winds at force 5, maintaining a slight sea state. Overnight, northwest to northeast winds at force 4 will prevail, occasionally strengthening to north to northeast at force 5, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions.
On the east coast, the afternoon will see northeast winds at force 4 to 5, with slight to moderate sea states. Nighttime winds will be north to northeast at force 4, occasionally reaching force 5, with the sea remaining slight to moderate. By morning, winds will shift to northeast to east at force 3 to 4, occasionally reaching force 4 to 5, with similar sea conditions.
The north coast will experience northeast to east winds at force 4 to 5 in the afternoon, with localized conditions at force 5, resulting in slight to moderate seas. During the night, winds will shift to east to southeast at force 3 to 4, with localized northeast to east winds at force 5, maintaining similar sea conditions.
