Weather Forecast for Cyprus Sea Areas Predicts Partly Cloudy Skies and Smooth Seas

Nicosia:The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering an area extending 8 kilometers seawards. The forecast is valid from 0600 on October 5, 2026, to 0600 on October 6, 2026.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the area is currently experiencing low pressure and an unstable airmass, resulting in partly cloudy weather with the possibility of isolated showers. Visibility is generally good but can become moderate to poor during showers. The atmospheric pressure recorded at the time of the forecast issuance is 1017 hPa, and the sea surface temperature is 26°C.

The forecast details for different coastal areas are as follows:

- On the West Coast, winds in the morning are variable at force 3 on the Beaufort scale, with the sea ranging from smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds shift to west to northwest, reaching force 3 to 4, and occasionally force 4 locally, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. At night, winds transition to northwest to northeast at force 3, initially west to northwest at 3 to 4 locally, with the sea remaining smooth to slight.

- The South Coast will experience northwest winds at force 3 in the morning, with a smooth to slight sea state. During the afternoon, winds will vary from southwest to west at force 3 to 4, sometimes locally reaching force 4, with smooth to slight seas. At night, northwest winds at force 3, occasionally reaching 3 to 4 locally, will maintain the smooth to slight sea conditions.

- On the East Coast, the morning will have variable winds at force 3, with a smooth to slight sea state. In the afternoon, winds will change from southeast to southwest at force 3 to 4, with the sea remaining smooth to slight. At night, winds will shift to west to northwest at force 3, keeping the sea smooth to slight.

- The North Coast will see variable winds at force 3 in the morning, with a smooth to slight sea state. In the afternoon, winds will transition from west to northwest at force 3 to 4, occasionally reaching force 4, while the sea remains smooth to slight. At night, winds will vary from northwest at force 2 to 3, near the coast changing to southeast to south, with the sea continuing to be smooth to slight.

No weather warnings have been issued for the period covered in the forecast.
