Industrial Producer Prices Rise by 4.2% in Cyprus for August

Nicosia:Industrial producer prices in Cyprus saw an increase of 4.2% in August 2026 compared to the same month in 2025, with a monthly rise of 0.2%, as reported by Eurostat.

According to Cyprus News Agency, this annual increase in Cyprus reflected an acceleration from the 4.0% recorded in July. Previously, the annual rate was 2.0% in both June and May, while March and April saw a decrease of 0.4%.

On a monthly basis, the 0.2% rise in August follows a 1.8% increase in July. Earlier figures showed a 0.3% rise in June, a significant 3.2% increase in May, and another 0.3% increase in April, with March experiencing a decline of 0.6%.

In the broader euro area, industrial producer prices rose by 1.9% in August compared to July, a trend mirrored in the EU. The previous month saw increases of 1.6% in the euro area and 1.4% in the EU.

Annually, the euro area reported an 8.2% increase in industrial producer prices, with the EU posting an 8.0% rise in August 2026 over the previous year.

The energy sector contributed significantly to these monthly increases, with energy prices rising by 5.6% in the euro area and 5.5% in the EU.
