Weak Low Pressure System to Bring Showers Across Cyprus

Nicosia: Weak low pressure is anticipated to impact the sea area surrounding Cyprus starting overnight, as reported by the Cyprus Department of Meteorology. Localized showers are predicted for the west and north regions late overnight, with the possibility of showers or thunderstorms extending to other areas by tomorrow.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1016 hPa, with the sea surface temperature at 18°C. Visibility is expected to remain good, but may decrease to moderate or poor during showers. No warnings have been issued for the period.

In terms of wind conditions and sea state, the west coast will experience east to southeast winds ranging from 3 to 5 with slight to moderate sea states expected. The south coast will have east winds reaching up to 4, with the sea remaining slight throughout the period. On the east coast, northeast to east winds will prevail, with the sea state varying from slight to moderate. The north coast will witness east to southeast winds shifting towards northeast, with seas ranging from smooth to moderate.
