Nicosia: The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will present the official Government Programme for 2026 at 1900 on Thursday, during his "State of the Union" address that will be broadcast on television and online.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the President highlighted via social media that his administration has introduced the innovation of presenting the Government's Annual Programme at the start of each year. He emphasized this initiative as a step towards full transparency and accountability. The President expressed a sense of responsibility and respect as he prepares to address the public, inviting them to join him in continuing to transform Cyprus.
Last month, Deputy Minister to the President, Irene Piki, commented after a special Cabinet meeting focused on the 2025 programme implementation. She revealed that President Christodoulides plans to conduct a comprehensive review of the government's progress in March. Piki reported that 67% of the actions announced for 2025 have been either completed or are nearing completion, with expectations for completion in the coming weeks.
She specified that out of 88 flagship actions, 47 have been fully completed, and an additional 12 are expected to finish soon, bringing the completion rate to 67%. Among the accomplished actions are tax reform, teacher evaluation reform, and advancements in the digital transition.
