Weak Low Pressure System Brings Showers to Cyprus Coastline

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating a period of weak low pressure affecting the region. This meteorological condition is expected to bring local showers and isolated thunderstorms to the area, extending 8 kilometers seawards, from noon on February 11, 2025, to noon on February 12, 2025.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast release was recorded at 1018 hPa. While the visibility in the area is generally good, it may become moderate to poor during showers. Despite the forecast of adverse weather, no official warnings have been issued for the period. The sea surface temperature is noted to be 19°C, and the winds are measured on the Beaufort scale, which is commonly used to estimate wind force.

The forecast serves as a reminder for those in the maritime community and local residents to remain vigilant of the changing weather conditions, particularly as thunderstorms may develop. The Cyprus Department of Meteorology will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
