Weak Low Pressure Influences Cyprus Sea Weather

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating that weak low pressure is currently affecting the region. While the weather is expected to be mainly fine, an increase in high and medium cloud cover is anticipated from tonight onwards.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility in the sea area is good, and the sea surface temperature is at 19°C. There are no warnings in effect for the period from 1200 on April 24, 2026, until 1200 on April 25, 2026.

The forecast details specific conditions across different coasts of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds will vary from west to northwest at 3 to 4, occasionally reaching northwest at 4 during the afternoon. The sea state will remain smooth to slight. During the night, the winds will shift from northwest to north, later changing to east to southeast, maintaining a smooth to slight sea. By morning, winds will change from northeast to southeast, eventually becoming variable at 3, with the sea staying smooth to slight.

The south coast will experience southwest to west winds at 3 to 4 in the afternoon, sometimes reaching 4, with a smooth to slight sea state. Overnight, the winds will transition from northwest to north and then to northeast to east at 3 to 4. By morning, northeast to east winds will range from 4 to 5, locally reaching 3 to 4, resulting in a slight, locally smooth to slight sea.

On the east coast, the forecast predicts southeast to southwest winds at 3 to 4 in the afternoon, with the sea being smooth to slight. At night, winds will shift from west to northwest, later changing to north to northeast at 3 to 4, with the sea becoming slight. By morning, northeast winds will be at 3 to 4, soon increasing to 4, with the sea state changing from smooth to slight to slight.

For the north coast, the afternoon will see west to northwest winds at 3 to 4 with a smooth to slight sea. At night, winds will be variable at 3, with offshore winds changing from northeast to east at 3 to 4. By morning, northeast to east winds will be at 3 to 4, gradually reaching 4, with the sea state transitioning from smooth to slight to slight.
