Weak Low Pressure Impacts Cyprus Sea Areas with Slight to Moderate Winds

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating that weak low pressure is affecting the region. The weather is expected to be mainly fine, although increased cloud cover may appear at times.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards for the period from 0600 on October 20, 2025, until 0600 on October 21, 2025. The atmospheric pressure at the time of issuance is 1014 hPa, and no warnings have been issued. The sea surface temperature is reported to be 26°C, and visibility is expected to be good.

The winds, measured on the Beaufort scale, will vary across different coastal areas. On the West Coast, the morning will see winds from the west to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, increasing to 4 by the afternoon, with the sea state ranging from slight to slight to moderate. By night, northwest winds will reduce to 3 to 4 Beaufort, maintaining a slight sea state.

On the South Coast, morning winds will blow south
west to west at 4 Beaufort, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, with the sea state being slight to slight to moderate. Afternoon winds will increase to 4 to 5 Beaufort, and at times locally 5 to 6, with a slight to moderate sea state. By night, winds will shift to west to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, maintaining a slight sea state.

The East Coast will experience southwest to west winds at 3 to 4 Beaufort in the morning, with the sea state ranging from smooth to slight. In the afternoon, winds will increase to 4 Beaufort, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, with a slight sea state. At night, winds will shift to west to northwest at 3 Beaufort, at times locally 3 to 4, with a slight to moderate sea state.

Finally, the North Coast will see southwest to west winds at 4 Beaufort in the morning, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, with a slight to slight to moderate sea state. In the afternoon, winds will increase to 4 to 5 Beaufort, occasionally reaching 5 offshore, with a slight to moderate sea state. By night, winds will decre
ase to southwest to west at 3 Beaufort, offshore 3 to 4, maintaining a slight sea state.
