Weak Low Pressure Brings Local Showers and Potential Thunderstorms to Cyprus Sea Area

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, predicting weak low pressure conditions from 1200 on February 9, 2025, to 1200 on February 10, 2025. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and highlights locally increased cloud presence, with local showers and a risk of isolated thunderstorms.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast’s issuance was recorded at 1018hPa. Visibility is expected to be generally good, although it may become moderate to poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is currently 19°C, and no significant warnings have been issued for the period.

The forecast utilizes the BEAUFORT scale to describe wind conditions, and all times referenced are local. Mariners and residents should remain aware of the potential for isolated weather events and plan accordingly.
