Weak Low Pressure Brings Isolated Showers to Cyprus Coastal Areas.

NICOSIA: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, anticipating isolated showers or thunderstorms primarily over coastal areas from the evening of November 20 to the evening of November 21, 2024. The forecast, which covers up to 8 kilometers seawards, indicates that weak low pressure is influencing the area, potentially leading to variable, strong, and gusty winds during storms.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1015 hPa. Although visibility is generally good, it is expected to become moderate to poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is currently 23°C. Importantly, no warnings have been issued for this period.

The forecast highlights the use of the Beaufort scale for measuring wind strength, with local times being applied throughout the report. Residents and maritime operators in the area are advised to remain informed of the changing weather conditions, particularly
in anticipation of potential gusty winds associated with storms.
