Nicosia:Weak low pressure is affecting the sea area of Cyprus, with conditions expected to bring locally increased cloud coverage and isolated showers, especially in the north and east regions.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast period extends from 1200 on September 28, 2026, to 1200 on September 29, 2026, covering an area 8 kilometers seawards. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was 1010 hPa. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 28°C, and there are no warnings in effect.

In the evening, cloud coverage is expected to increase, with a risk of isolated thunderstorms. During the night and into the following morning, light rain showers are likely over the western areas. Visibility is generally good but may become moderate to poor during showers.

On the west coast, winds in the afternoon are expected to be from the west to northwest at Beaufort scale 4 to 5, locally reaching 5 to 6, with the sea state ranging from slight to moderate. The night will see a shift to northwest to north winds at 3 to 4, with slight seas, continuing into the morning with southwest to west winds.

The south coast will experience afternoon winds from the southwest to west at 5 to 6, locally reaching 6, with slight to moderate sea conditions. Overnight, winds will moderate to 3 to 4 and remain slight into the morning.

The east coast will have afternoon winds from south to southwest at 4 to 5, becoming slight, with conditions easing overnight. By morning, winds will shift slightly but remain light.

On the north coast, afternoon winds will be southwest to northwest at 4 to 5, with slight to moderate seas. These will ease to 3 to 4 overnight, remaining slight into the morning.
