Weak Low Pressure and Cloudy Conditions Expected in Cyprus Sea Area

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, effective from 1800 on March 30, 2026, to 1800 on March 31, 2026. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and includes details on atmospheric conditions, wind patterns, and sea temperatures.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the current atmospheric pressure stands at 1007 hPa, indicating weak low pressure affecting the area. This condition is expected to bring locally increased cloud coverage with a possibility of isolated showers during the forecast period. Despite the potential for showers, visibility remains generally good but may be reduced to moderate levels when showers occur.

The forecast also notes that the sea surface temperature is 19°C. There are no warnings issued for the period, suggesting that conditions are generally stable without significant weather disturbances expected. The winds in the area are measured using the Beaufort scale, though specific wind speeds were not detailed in the forecast.
