Weak High Pressure Brings Calm Seas Around Cyprus

NICOSIA: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, anticipating mainly fine weather conditions over the next 24 hours. The forecast period extends from 1800 on January 17, 2025, to 1800 on January 18, 2025, covering an area 8 kilometers seawards.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the region is currently experiencing weak high pressure, contributing to the expected calm weather. While the weather is forecasted to be mainly fine, there will be instances of locally increased cloud coverage. Visibility in the area is deemed good, offering suitable conditions for marine activities.

The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issue was recorded at 1025 hPa. The sea surface temperature is expected to remain steady at 19°C, providing a comfortable environment for marine life and activities. The forecast does not include any warnings, indicating a period of stability in sea conditions around Cyprus.
