Nicosia: President Nikos Christodoulides has expressed his deep condolences over the funicular accident in Lisbon, in which at least 15 people tragically lost their lives.

According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides took to social media platform X to convey his sympathies. He stated, “Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those affected as we stand in solidarity with Portugal.”

President Christodoulides emphasized the strong bonds between Cyprus and Portugal, offering support during this difficult time. The accident has drawn international attention, with leaders from around the world expressing their condolences and support to the people of Portugal.
