ISTANBUL: US stocks opened mixed on Tuesday. The Dow Jones was flat at 39,313 points at 9.59 am EDT (1359GMT). The S and P 500, on the other hand, rose 14 points, or 0.28%, to 5,233. The Nasdaq added 85 points, or 0.52%, to 16,469. The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.9% to 13.07. The 10-year US Treasury yield climbed 0.1% to 4.255%. The dollar index lost 0.3% to 104.18, while the euro added 0.2% to $1.0854 against the greenback. Precious metals were mixed, with gold rising 0.65% to $2,186 per ounce but silver losing 0.2% to $24.63. Oil prices were mostly unchanged, with global benchmark Brent crude at $86.03 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $81.95. Source: Anadolu Agency
