University of Nicosia research shows that emissions cause 238 premature deaths in 2017

Researchers from the University of Nicosia found out that 238 people lost their lives in 2017 due to emissions released by vehicles and heat sources and came to the conclusion that reducing atmospheric pollutants can save human lives.

According to a press release by the University of Cyprus forty-five and twenty-four percent of anthropogenic nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions originate from vehicles and combustion sources, respectively.
