Nicosia: The University of Nicosia (UNIC) has been recognized as a PRME Champion for the 2026-2027 cohort, making it the only institution from Cyprus, Greece, and Southeastern Europe to receive this recognition. This acknowledgment places UNIC among a select group of 50 global PRME Signatory Members known for their commitment to responsible management education.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the recognition is granted by the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a United Nations-supported initiative. PRME collaborates with business and management schools worldwide, aiming to cultivate future leaders who can create sustainable value for business and society while furthering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNIC's selection by the PRME Secretariat highlights its role as a leader in innovation, collaboration, and influence within the PRME community.
UNIC's designation as a PRME Champion underscores its dedication to providing future business leaders with the necessary knowledge and skills to incorporate sustainability, ethics, and long-term value creation into their decision-making processes. This commitment is reflected in the University's initiatives through its Schools and wider community.
Over the next two years, the PRME Champions cohort will focus on self-selected areas of interest, engaging in a collective inquiry to address shared challenges. This collaborative effort aims to strengthen responsible management education and provide value for both business and society.
