Nicosia: The number of unemployed individuals in Cyprus decreased by 13.1% in April 2025, marking a significant annual reduction.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Statistical Service of Cyprus reported that the total number of unemployed persons registered at the District Labour Offices was 8,118 by the end of April 2025. Seasonally adjusted figures indicated a decrease in registered unemployed individuals to 9,655 in April 2025, down from 10,035 in March 2025.
Compared to April 2024, there was a reduction of 1,225 unemployed persons, equivalent to 13.1%. This decrease is mainly attributed to the sectors of financial and insurance activities, construction, trade, accommodation, and food service activities. Additionally, there was a noted decline in unemployment among newcomers in the labor market.
