ISTANBUL: The UK’s annual inflation was at 4% in January, unchanged from December, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Wednesday.
The main factor fueling inflation was housing and household services – principally higher gas and electricity charges, the office said.
It added that the largest downward contribution stemmed from furniture and household goods, and food and non-alcoholic beverages.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.6% in January.
