UCY announces two-day symposium for new European program

The new European program “Storytelling as Pharmakon in Premodernity and Beyond: Training the New Generation of Researchers in Health Humanities” (StoryPharm) of the Research Unit for Medieval Arts and Rituals (EMoMeT, https://www.ucy.ac.cy/cemar /) of the University of Cyprus announces the official launch of its works which will take place in the context of a two-day symposium on October 17-18.

The symposium will take place at the “Stelios Ioannou” Information Center – Library of UCY and is free and open to the public.

StoryPharm has received funding of pound 5.1 million from Horizon Europe Programme for Research and Innovation under the action Horizon MSCA Doctoral Network.

The project is implemented by a network of five universities: the University of Cyprus, the University of Bamberg (Germany), the University of Lund (Sweden), the University of Salerno (Italy) and the University of Cardiff (UK). Seven non-academic partners including pharmaceutical companies, publishing houses, museums and libraries are
also participating.

The project will employ 19 PhD candidates who will receive a very high-level and multi-dimensional education in order to acquire important research and other skills that will enable them to excel in the fields of research, health, education and the cultural industry.
