Nicosia: The Turnover Value Index of Wholesale Trade (Division 46) experienced a notable increase of 11.2% in the first quarter of 2026 when compared to the same period in the previous year. This data, released by the Statistical Service on Monday, highlights a robust growth in the wholesale trade sector.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Turnover Value Index of Sales and Repair of Motor Vehicles (Division 45) saw a decrease of 3.6% during the same timeframe. This decline contrasts with the overall positive trend in wholesale trade.
The Statistical Service's data indicates that the wholesale trade sector witnessed growth across various economic activities, except for wholesale trade conducted on a fee or contract basis, which experienced a decline of 18.5%.
Additionally, the sale of motor vehicles recorded a significant decrease of 9.4%. In contrast, services related to vehicle maintenance and repair, as well as the sale of vehicle parts and accessories, showed an upward trend.
